Willow Flycatcher Workshop

Saturday & Sunday, May 15 & 16, 2010

Kern River Valley, CA

The Southern Sierra Research Station offers a workshop each spring for individuals who study Willow Flycatchers on the summer breeding grounds. The goal of the training session is to provide researchers with the necessary tools for identifying Willow Flycatchers and accurately estimating their numbers using standard survey protocols. Yellow-billed Cuckoo Workshops

May 18 & 19, 2010

Kern River Valley, CA

The Southern Sierra Research Station offers a workshop each spring for individuals who study Yellow-billed Cuckoos on the summer breeding grounds. The workshop is held on May 18th and 19th, the first day starts at 1pm and ends 5pm and the second day starts at 6am and ends at 10am. As this species life history strategies are being revealed annually, these workshops incorporate some of the most recent findings and up to date methodologies for working with Yellow-billed cuckoos.

May 28, 2010

Petaluma, CA

Murrelet Halterman and Chrissy Howell will be conducting a Yellow-billed Cuckoo Survey training workshop on Friday May 28, 2010 from 9am-5pm at PRBO headquarters in Petaluma, CA (90 miles west of Sacramento and 40 miles north of San Francisco ). Training will include overview of cuckoo biology, field playback survey protocol, field playback simulations, and discussion of nest searching.
